Acolytes: Worship is an expression of the community, and as such, our goal at St. Philip’s is to incorporate as many people into our weekly worship services as possible. Our young people have assumed the responsibility of serving as acolytes at St. Philip’s. Young men and women are formally trained in 7th grade to lead the procession, light and extinguish the chancel candles, assist with baptisms, and handle the offerings. Though we formally train them in 7th grade, youth who are eager to serve at an earlier age may let the pastor know and he will set up special training for them.
