Kids Club at St. Philip’s – Fall 2020
Until we can safely hold in-person educational activities within the church building, Kids Club take place online. Activities can be accessed right here on the St. Philip’s website. At this time, we plan to offer the below opportunities for our young students:
Weekly Online Activities
We will post the Kids club lesson of the week each Monday. The lesson will include a reading, a video, discussion points and several activities for families to use at home if they wish. Due to copyright considerations from the publisher, we are only permitted to post one week of the activities at a time. We are permitted to email activities to parents as well so if you miss one, please contact Miss Sandy.
Preschool Through Kindergarten – Spark Bible Readings Videos Available Online
Miss Sandy and others have recorded short video reading from the Spark Bible. In the fall we will focus on Old Testament stories such as Creation, Noah’s Ark, and God’s promise to Abraham
Elementary School-aged Children (1st-5th Grades) – Weekly Zoom class on
Sundays from 9:30 – 10:00
Miss Sandy will host a short Zoom class each Sunday morning. There will be a bible reading and discussion based on our Dig In Curriculum. Some weeks will include a short video and activity. It will be important for children to be logged in on time so that they do not miss the bible story. The planned schedule for each class is:
9:30-9:35: Discussion of what everyone has been up to in the past week
9:35-9:40: Bible reading
9:40-End: Discussion of the reading and a short activity if possible
While we encourage caregivers to discuss the lessons with their children, we ask that they not attend or participate in the in the Kids Club Zoom Classes. This is to provide our students with a space to enjoy fellowship with their peers, discuss their ideas, and focus on their faith. Kids Club students should be able to sit for the meeting with minimal supervision. Families with children that are not are quite ready to sit for a Zoom meeting are encouraged to take advantage of the other activities for children listed above. Parents are also encouraged to explore the bible through our adult bible study classes.
