GROCERY CLUB

The St. Philip's Grocery Club is another one of the feeding ministries of St. Philip's. The Grocery Club is a step beyond the Produce Distribution in that the Grocery Club provides supplemental groceries to pre-screened clients. The Grocery Club is made up of individuals that have met the low-income qualifications and includes some of the same families to whom we give free produce. There is always a waiting list to become part of the Grocery Club, especially in these more difficult economic times.

Each time the Grocery Club gathers, we are distributing food that St. Philip's has already pre-purchased and pre-ordered at a great discount. Typically they are food items that help our friends and clients make full meals for their families and include the more expensive items that are difficult to afford: meats, dairy, and other foods that contain important proteins.

The Grocery Club takes place on the second Wednesday of each month. We are always in need of new people to help volunteer as there are many jobs to be done for this ministry. We often need volunteers to drive to the FoodBank of Delaware. We need volunteers who, when the items are brought back to the church, help sort and pack the food into boxes. Volunteers are available between 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. as families arrive to pick up their food. And volunteers are always ready to help carry and load these groceries into our guests' cars as needed.

If you would like to be a part of this amazing ministry, contact the church office and we would be happy to connect you with the coordinators.

For those that are hearing impaired, St. Philips has listening devices.
These devices are stored in a rack to the left of the door leading to the Sanctuary. It would be greatly appreciated if they are turned off after each usage.
